King Fahd Causeway is a dike-bridge combination connecting Khobar, Saudi Arabia, with Bahrain, the island state. A construction agreement signed on July 8, 1981 by King Fahd of Saudi Arabia and Sheikh Isa bin Salman al-Khalifa of Bharain. Construction continued until 1986, when combination by several bridges and dams have been completed. The causeway was officially opened on November 25, 1986.
